RCIA (For Adults)

St. Mary of the Angels RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) welcomes anyone who want to know more about what the Catholic Church believes and teaches. We welcome:

  • any non-baptized person who wants to become more familiar with Christianity;
  • Christians outside the Catholic Church who wish to learn more about what it means to be a Catholic Christian;
  • and finally baptized Catholics who:
    • wish to invigorate their faith through a refresher course
    • or to receive sacraments never received, particularly First Communion, Reconciliation, and Confirmation.

The participants may be Baptized, or profess their faith, receive Confirmation and celebrate the Eucharist at the Easter Vigil (the Saturday before Easter). Those who attend the RCIA classes are under no obligation to complete the course or commit to entering the Catholic Church. They have an opportunity to meet others who are actively seeking the Church as well as the RCIA team who will help and instruct them on their journey to understand more deeply the Catholic faith. The RCIA program meets for the first time on the Monday after Labor Day and on successive Mondays in the Parish Office at 7:30 pm.
