St. Mary of the Angels Parish World Youth Day Tour

  • Who Can Join?
Any high school or college age students, as well as young adults, who actively practice their faith, who, if they are Catholic, attend Sunday Mass regularly, and wish to deepen their faith in an atmosphere of service and prayer, will travel with Father John R. Waiss, Chaplain, and other adult chaperones.
  • Where?
We will embark on a pilgrimage to Krakow, Poland for World Youth Day 2016. While in Krakow we will avail ourselves to growing in our Catholic faith through catechesis, travel to sights where saints walked, and experience the universal Catholic Church.
We will live in very simple lodging and continue our pilgrimage visiting various sites of religious and historical significance such as Our Lady of Czestochowa, Auschwitz,
St. Faustina, St. John Paul II, and Zakopane. This is by no means a vacation! It is a religious pilgrimage that will involve much preparation, some hardship, and a great deal of personal sacrifice. It guarantees much satisfaction.
  • When?
    July 24, 2016 through August 3, 2016
We will also have mandatory preparation meetings.
  • How?
The pilgrimage is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. There are only 20 seats. In order to be considered for the pilgrimage, applicants must complete the liability waiver and registration form and type a one page essay answering the following questions:

    1. Why do I want to go on the pilgrimage?
    2. How do I hope to grow?
    3. What gifts do I bring to the group?
A NONREFUNDABLE $200 deposit must be included for consideration. Even if you don’t have a passport yet, get the form in ASAP. We can get the passport number later.
